Welcome to JW Unite. By accessing or using the JW Unite application (“App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions of Use (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
By using JW Unite, you certify that you are:
At least 18 years of age.
Using your legal, real name. Pseudonyms or misrepresentation of identity are grounds for immediate permanent ban.
This platform is intended for Jehovah’s Witnesses seeking meaningful, spiritually focused connections. While we do not verify congregation membership, users are expected to respect the purpose and values of this community.
2. Independent Platform Disclaimer
This application is not an official product or service of the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society of Pennsylvania or any of its affiliated legal entities. JW Unite is a privately developed and managed platform. No endorsement, sponsorship, or affiliation with the organization is implied.
3. User Conduct & Community Standards
You agree to conduct yourself in harmony with Bible principles. This includes:
Respectful Communication: Harassment, threats, or abusive language of any kind will not be tolerated.
No Explicit Content: Posting or sending sexually suggestive, immodest, or inappropriate images or text is strictly prohibited.
Honest Representation: You agree to provide accurate information about yourself in your profile.
Reporting: You agree to report any user who violates these standards to the moderation team.
Violation of these standards may result in immediate suspension or permanent removal from the platform.
4. Personal Responsibility & Safety
Assumption of Risk: JW Unite does not perform criminal background checks or verify the identity, character, or spiritual standing of its users. You are solely responsible for your interactions and personal safety.
Safe Practices: We strongly recommend following the safety guidance provided in the App, including meeting in public places and informing trusted friends or family of your plans.
No Guarantees: JW Unite does not guarantee that you will find a compatible partner or that any user is who they claim to be.
5. Subscriptions & Payments
JW Unite offers an optional auto-renewable subscription called “JW Plus” that provides access to premium features.
Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
Subscription automatically renews unless cancel before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period at the same price.
You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time through your device’s App Store account settings. Prices are subject to change. Any price changes will take effect at the start of the next subscription period following the date of the price change.
6. Data & Privacy
Your use of the App is governed by our Privacy Policy. We use encryption to protect your data, but you acknowledge that no internet transmission is 100% secure. You agree that the App may collect and store information including location and congregation details for the purpose of providing the service.
7. Account Deletion
You may delete your account at any time through the App by navigating to Settings > Account > Delete Account. Upon deletion, your profile data will be anonymized and your personal information removed. Active subscriptions must be cancelled separately through your device’s App Store account settings, as account deletion does not automatically cancel your subscription.
8. Termination of Service
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, without prior notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms or if your conduct is deemed inconsistent with the community standards outlined herein. No refund will be issued for any remaining subscription period upon termination for violation of these Terms.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, JW Unite and its developers, officers, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to emotional distress, loss of data, loss of profits, or personal injury, arising from your use of the App or your interactions with other users.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
11. Changes to These Terms
We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Updated Terms will be posted within the App or on our website. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. We encourage you to review these Terms periodically.
